A properly applied makeup can enhance your natural features and to kind of fade out features you dislike. Following are the guidelines for doing the makeup in a professional way.
1. Cleansing
A cleanser is a facial care product that is used to remove make-up, dead skin cells, oil, dirt, and other types of pollutants from the skin of the face. This helps to unclog pores and prevent skin conditions such as acne.
Take small amount of cleanser in fingertips and apply all over the face and neck by circular motions for 1 or 2 min and wipe it off.
2. Toning
Toner may serve various purposes- to refine the pores, to soften the skin, to clean off any soap residue that was not dissolved by rinsing.
Take some toner in a cotton and wipe it off on the skin or spray the toner and blot the excess with a tissue.
3. Moisturizer/primer or both
Moisturizers or emollients are complex mixtures of chemical agents specially designed to make the external layers of the skin (epidermis) softer and more pliable. They increase the skin's hydration (water content) by reducing evaporation.
A foundation primer may work like a moisturizer, or it may absorb oil with salicylic acid or aid in creating a less oily, more matte appearance. It aids in applying the foundation more evenly and smoothly, and increases the longevity of the foundation. A foundation primer helps you to achieve a more professional looking makeup.
Apply moisturizer/primer suitable for each skin type nicely and blend it off.
4. Foundation
Foundation is a skin colored cosmetic applied to the face to create an even, uniform color to the complexion, to cover flaws and, sometimes, to change the natural skin tone.
Foundation should be exactly same as that of skin and apply with a brush or sponge or finger tips and blend it properly by dabbing.
5. Translucent powder/loose powder
Translucent powder is a sheer, colorless facial powder usually used to set makeup, not to cover or add color. It can also be used just to control shine and give the complexion a matte finish. Apply translucent powder with a large powder brush, brushing lightly all over your face.
6. Eye shadows
Eye shadow is a cosmetic that is applied on the eyelids and under the eyebrows. It is commonly used to make the wearer's eyes stand out or look more attractive. Eye shadow can add depth and dimension to one's eyes, complement the eye color, or simply draw attention to the eyes.
Eye shadows are applied in the following order
- Base color(similar to eye lid color)
- Medium shadow over from eyelash area to the crease
- Contour or shape the end of eyelash line with a deeper color
- Highlight just under the brow bone with a lighter eye shadow
- Eyeliner
Eyeliner is a cosmetic used to define the eyes. It is applied around the contours of the eye(s) to create a variety of aesthetic effects. Eyeliner is applied thick or thin using a brush.
8. Mascara
Mascara is a cosmetic commonly used to enhance the eyes. It may darken, thicken, lengthen, and/or define the eyelashes.
Mascara is applied on bottom of lashes and top by stretching the eyelid
9. Lipstick
After applying the lip balm or lip primer, lipstick is applied with a lip brush by lining the lip shape and then filling inside. Apply lip gloss over the lipstick if necessary.
10. Blush
Blush is a cosmetic typically used to redden the cheeks so as to provide a more youthful appearance, and to emphasize the cheekbones. The whole idea of putting color on your cheeks is to mimic a healthy glow.
Blush is applied on the cheek bone or under the cheekbones according to face features and blend it nicely so as to appear as if it is a natural glow.
